Pulse is a native macOS system monitor made by Edward Chiang. It is built to work entirely on your Mac. Your monitoring data stays there, and Pulse has no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no accounts.
Data Pulse collects on your Mac
To do its job, Pulse reads system information such as CPU, memory, GPU, network, disk, battery and temperature readings, per-app and per-process usage, project folders you add and their listening ports. It keeps up to 30 days of history.
All of this is collected and stored only on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Pulse. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Microphone, system audio and Bluetooth
Microphone level, system audio and Bluetooth readings are optional features. They are off until you turn them on, and macOS asks for your permission first. When enabled, these readings are only used live on your Mac. Audio is never recorded or transmitted.
What leaves your Mac
The version of Pulse downloaded from this website makes only these network requests:
- License activation and validation. When you activate Pulse, about once a day while it runs, and when you deactivate a Mac, Pulse contacts Lemon Squeezy’s license service. It sends your license key, an activation ID and your Mac’s hardware model name (for example “Pulse on Mac16,1”). It never sends your computer name or user name.
- Update checks. Pulse uses the Sparkle framework to check for updates. It downloads an update feed from getpulsemac.com and, when you install an update, the update files from getpulsemac.com’s download host.
Purchases
Direct purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy receives your purchase details, such as your name, email address and billing information, and handles them under its own privacy policy.
Pulse through Setapp
If you get Pulse through Setapp, Setapp’s own terms and privacy policy apply to your subscription and to any data Setapp collects.
This website
getpulsemac.com has no analytics and sets no cookies of its own. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process IP addresses in its server logs to deliver and protect the site.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives only on your Mac, you are in control of it. To delete everything Pulse has stored, delete the Pulse app and the ~/Library/Application Support/Pulse folder.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
